Summary Fills medication orders and prescriptions, prepares labels, calculates quantities, and assembles other pharmaceutical therapies. Responsibilities Assists in preparing and dispensing medication by filling unit dose cards with prescribed tablets and capsules, and affixing labels for proper identification of patient and medication to unit dose cards, bottles, boxes, etc. May be required to use their professional judgement to ensure the Medication Administration Record (MAR) chart produced is accurate, current, and meets the standards established by the pharmacy Mindful of pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed medications and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt; removing outdated drugs and responding to questions regarding the availability of medications Receives and stores incoming medications and supplies Performs computer order entry function Cleans equipment and glassware according to prescribed methods Assists in preparing medication deliveries to facilities This position has access to PHI and must comply with HIPAA regulations Complies with company Corporate Compliance Program Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Ability to operate related office equipment, such as computers, 10-key calculator, and copier. Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment. Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with customers. Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Ability to create a compassionate and respectful environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work 100% on-site, with no remote work options available. May have to work overtime with little or no notice as needed.

Required Physical Abilities:
Standing:

Ability to stand for 8 or more hours a day, often for the majority of the workday.

Manual Dexterity:

Proficiency in using hands and fingers to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls, such as typing on a keyboard.

Visual Acuity:

Good vision to read and interpret data on computer screens and documents.

Communication:

Ability to speak clearly and listen attentively during phone calls or meetings.

Occasional Lifting:

Capability to lift and carry objects, typically up to 50 pounds.

Mobility:

Ability to move around the pharmacy to access files, reach drugs on/off shelves, office equipment, or attend meetings. Ability to bend and stoop.

Posture:

Maintaining proper posture to avoid strain or injury.

Education and Experience:

Completion of a structured Pharmacy Technician Training Program approved by the State Board of Pharmacy. Current Pharmacy Technician License issued by Board of Pharmacy and in good standing.
