This position will entail a variety of skill sets to keep the shop and the team working safely and efficiently. The following is a list of some main responsibilities of the position. A Maintenance Technician, or Maintenance Mechanic, ensures equipment, machinery, and facilities are in good working order. Their responsibilities include routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs, often following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for tasks like equipment inspections, part replacements, and preventive maintenance. They may also be involved in inventory management, training, and reporting on maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Routine Maintenance:
Performing scheduled inspections, lubrication, and other tasks to prevent equipment failure.
Troubleshooting:
Identifying and diagnosing mechanical, electrical, or other equipment problems.
Repairs:
Fixing or replacing faulty parts and components, often following detailed SOPs.
Preventive Maintenance:
Developing and implementing strategies to minimize future breakdowns.
Inventory Management:
Tracking and ordering spare parts and supplies.
Safety Compliance:
Ensuring all maintenance activities adhere to safety regulations and procedures.
Documentation:
Maintaining records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory.
Training:
May train other employees on basic maintenance tasks.
