Job Description

Maintenance, Mechanic Job Description This position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all physical plant systems and reports directly to the Administrative Dean. This position requires climbing ladders, working on roof tops, working in confined spaces and other physically demanding duties. This position requires physical mobility, manual dexterity, and ability to lift at least 70 lbs. Job Duties 1. Work under the direction of the Administrative Dean, performing all duties as assigned. 2. Work with contractors, subcontractors, and other vendors on campus systems, etc. 3. Responsible for the operation and maintenance of hot water generators (gas and electric), all cooling systems and pneumatic/electrical control systems (includes chilled water, A/C and heat pump systems, etc.). 4. Read blueprints, schematics and charts. 5. Assist with preventative maintenance on all HVAC equipment. 6. Perform work on low and high voltage systems. 7. Help resolve problems and perform general maintenance in areas such as plumbing, carpentry, welding, mechanics, painting, etc. as they occur. 8. Work with all other Maintenance personnel as assigned. 9. Work on weekends, holidays, evenings/nights and all other hours as required. 10. Work scheduled hours and flexible rotation as required. 11. Must maintain a valid MS Drivers License. 12. Responsible for housekeeping of facilities. 13. Must keep campus grounds maintained. 14. Responsible for the operation and maintenance of College vehicle fleet. Mandatory Qualifications

MANDATORY

(M1) High school diploma/GED. (M2) Minimum of six years experience in a maintenance related field. (M3) Certificate in a maintenance related educational field or vocational/industrial training. Desirable Qualifications

DESIRABLE

(D1) Certificate in heating and air conditioning systems. (D2) Must be able to communicate effectively with college personnel at all levels. (D3) Automobile and small engine mechanics/servicing experience.
