Maintenance Technician (1st Shift) (6:00am – 2:30pm) 3.1 3.1 out of 5 stars New Albany, MS 38652 Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team in a dynamic manufacturing facility. We are a Tier I supplier to Toyota. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge, ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely. This role requires a proactive approach to maintenance, troubleshooting, and contributing to the overall productivity of our operations. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and safety of all injection molding and blow molding machinery, auxiliary equipment, and facility systems. This role performs preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance in a high-volume, automotive-grade manufacturing environment. The Maintenance Technician will be instrumental in reducing downtime, supporting production goals, and meeting Toyota’s quality and delivery standards. Duties Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on injection and blow molding machines. Conduct routine and preventive maintenance according to scheduled plans and equipment manuals. Assist in installation, setup, and commissioning of new machines and equipment. Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and minimize production interruptions. Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders through CMMS. Monitor equipment for abnormal sounds, vibration, or performance issues. Fabricate or modify parts using hand tools, lathes, mills, or welding equipment when needed. Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and machine manuals. Adhere to safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and OSHA compliance at all times. Support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurring equipment failures. Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to improve equipment reliability and efficiency. Assist in maintaining parts inventory and ordering replacement components when necessary. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and Kaizen activities. Troubleshoot HVAC/R systems to ensure optimal performance and address any issues promptly. Collaborate with team members to maintain a safe working environment, adhering to all safety protocols. Operate scissor lifts and other equipment as necessary for maintenance tasks. Assist in electrical work as an industrial electrician, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory. Skills Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in a manufacturing maintenance role; automotive or plastics industry experience preferred. Strong knowledge of injection molding and/or blow molding equipment Proficient in reading electrical diagrams, PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens), HMIs, and basic programming is a plus. Skilled in troubleshooting motors, drives, control circuits, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical assemblies. Ability to use diagnostic tools such as multimeters, calipers, gauges, etc. Basic welding and machining/fabrication skills a plus. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or rotating shifts as needed. Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in industrial settings. Proficiency in HVAC/R systems and troubleshooting techniques. Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with team members. Experience in field service roles, demonstrating problem-solving abilities on-site. Ability to operate scissor lifts safely and effectively. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices.
