Job Description
Maintenance Technician Airspeed LLC Mebane, NC 27302 The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all equipment within an automated manufacturing facility. This role involves performing preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing improvements to optimize production. Duties & Responsibilities Schedule and execute maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failures and minimize downtime. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve equipment malfunctions focusing on safety, quality, and cost. Provide technical assistance to production staff, including troubleshooting and minor repairs. Continuously seek ways to improve equipment efficiency, quality, and safety. Participate in projects to improve equipment and processes. Document maintenance activities, equipment performance, and any issues encountered. Train and assist technicians to complete minor repairs that do not require equipment shutdown. Assist in equipment and tool changeovers and adjustments, to optimize efficiency. Proactively monitor equipment operability, identifying and documenting potential issues. Report unsafe situations, nearmisses, and all accidents and/or injuries, and assist in developing preventative solutions. Perform calibration activities as required. Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness in the maintenance facilities, equipment, and tools. Follow all safety and company policies and guidelines. Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Skill/Abilities Strong understanding of plastic injection molding processes, tooling, and materials. Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining 6axis robots and industrial automation. Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. Ability to diagnose and resolve equipment problems effectively. Meticulous approach to tasks and accurate recordkeeping. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software as needed to complete reports. Ability to pass a background screen. Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior work experience in the plastic molding industry Experience with 6axis robots highly preferred. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time. Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced. Dexterity and accuracy as needed to operate testing equipment. Must be able to travel domestically and internationally.
