Maintenance Technician Position Available In Catawba, North Carolina

Job Description:

Description The purpose of this position is: Performs routineand emergency maintenance on high-speed automated manufacturing andproduction support equipment. Performs various process improvementsof machines and equipment, including molding/extrusion throughpackaging. Participates in troubleshooting, process improvement,and new equipment installation that vary in complexity. Thisposition includes significant duties such as:

• Troubleshootsequipment breakdowns and performs mechanical, pneumatic, andelectrical maintenance whenever required to ensure uninterruptedcustomer supply.
• Repairs, rebuilds, adjusts, inspects, andmonitors production and/or facility related equipment andmachinery.
• Completes required preventive maintenance at definedintervals. Routinely assesses the suitability of such intervals andscope covered and revises when necessary.
• Works with Quality andEngineering to document repairs/changes made to equipment.
• Maintains an adequate spare parts inventory to supportmanufacturing operations – uses electronic means to track on-handquantities, part numbers, and other reorder data.
• Supportsvalidations from a mechanical support perspective.
• Supports allcapital equipment projects (as the subject matter expert (SME) formaintenance) including specification, design input, testing, etc.
• Performs maintenance tracking activities in Tabware.
• Orders andobtains replacement parts in storeroom in support of preventivemaintenance or proactive replacement efforts.
• Participates inKaizen and Lean activities as necessary to drive continuousimprovement initiatives.
• Complies with safety standards includingLock-Out/Tag-Out and Zero-Energy.
• Complies with training in allmanufacturing areas.
• Handles hazardous waste as appropriate.
• Performs other duties as required to meet the needs of thedepartment and company.
• Provides technical support to engineeringteam on equipment installations and upgrades.
• Trains/mentorsother technicians in department.

Working Conditions:

Exposure tohigh voltage. Lifts, pushes, pulls or moves equipment and machineryover 25 pounds occasionally, and up to 65 pounds rarely. Exposureto fumes and high frequency noise in manufacturing areas. Safetyglasses and hearing protection are required on the manufacturingfloor and other designated areas. Adherence to plant safetyrequirements, OSHA and

QSR/GMP/ISO

guidelines as applicable.

Education:

High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience :

Thisis an entry level job. Experience using hand tools and a basicunderstanding of mechanical and electrical concepts are required.

Industrial maintenance experience is preferred.
