Advanced Maintenance Technician Classification Hourly Non-Exempt Xceldyne is the global leader in motorsports valve and valvetrain component manufacturing in the world! Located in Thomasville, NC. Xceldyne engineering and manufacturing facility is focused on the manufacture of highly technical, high-precision titanium, steel, and aluminum performance parts from Formula One and NASCAR racing engines.

Perform a variety of work in the repair and general maintenance of machines, equipment and all related duties. Responsible for preventive maintenance including electrical, HVAC, and plumbing.

Position Summary:
Primary function is to keep all machinery in good working order, supervise the Housekeeping personal and assist in keeping the facility in a safe and clean work environment.
REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to maintain all machinery to as “like new” condition as possible. This includes, but is not limited to preventive maintenance, proper alignment, any repairs as needed, etc. General repair and maintenance of anything not in proper working order.
- Hands on experience working with motor controls, VFD’s, DC drives system design.
- Skilled at trouble shooting and repairing hydraulic motors/pumps
- Hands on experience troubleshooting Allen Bradley/Direct Logic PLC’s are required as well as integrated Window software to analyze AC/DC, single phase and 3 phase transformers.
- Able to install and repair electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical components of industrial machinery and equipment. Install power and conduit for newly installed machines, and programmable controllers, etc.
- Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replace damaged or broken wires and cables. Test malfunctioning machinery and present possible solutions to other team members. Communicate regarding this with original equipment manufacturer (OEM).
- Replace faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, motors, and positions sensing devices.
- Calibrate in process instruments and devices, maintain records of critical control readings and repairs. Transfer and enter information into computer, copying programs from one electronic component to another, drawing, modifying, and/or storing schematics.
- Maintain plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and wiring.
- Develop technical solutions and workarounds to address maintenance related problems. Essential skills & experience:
- 5 years of related experience (preventive maintenance scheduling, trouble shooting, set-up and alignment experience of CNC machinery).
Technical degree a plus. Good knowledge of CNC machinery and general principles of CNC machine tools as well as mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills for CNC machine tools. Advanced electrical skills a plus. Valid driver’s license for pick-up of supplies. Knowledge of general maintenance type trades, including but not limited to carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical wiring. Must be a self-starter, able to work unsupervised, follow directions verbally, written, or face to face. Ability to multi-task and must be organized and motivated.
Physical demands and work environment:
Ability to verbally communicate basic job-related information face to face in English. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds 10 times per day. Ability to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, bending at the waist, lifting above the head, reaching and pulling. 50% of the job could be done in a temperature-controlled work environment. The rest could be performed outside under weather conditions and temperature extremes found in this region.
