DESCRIPTION

Position Summary:

Participates in a variety of maintenance and repair work on all plant equipment in accordance with operating manual, diagrams and manufacturer’s specifications, including but not limited to: production machines and equipment, power tools, and buildings and property. Monday

Full Time No weekends Primary Responsibilities Performs weekly/monthly routine service and preventative maintenance on all shop floor equipment Inspects all facilities periodically to determine problems and necessary maintenance Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, hand-tools and power tools Repairs or replaces defective parts Lubricates and cleans parts Maintains records and logs as needed Maintains schedule compliance and priority Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble Starts devices to test their performance and ensure running correctly after fixing/repairing Completes maintenance jobs in accordance with the highest standards of efficiency and workmanship Works under immediate supervision and is not typically required to exercise independent judgment, but at times will be necessary Safety and security: is able to observe safety and security procedures and use equipment and materials properly Keep work area organized to maintain a clean and safe work environment Janitorial Performs other duties as directed by Management Competencies & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent A minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical maintenance and repair work, particularly related to plant machinery Must have own tools required to perform basic responsibilities Must have a valid driver’s license Mechanically inclined with the ability to learn and seek out new skills Thorough knowledge of hand and power tools and equipment used in plant maintenance and repair activities Excellent working knowledge of shop machines and precision measuring tools, 480V and 110V A/C knowledge a plus Strong electrical knowledge Knowledge of cranes, hoists, forklifts, extended boom lifts, overhead cranes, and automobiles Ability to follow instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job Ability to diagnose and make repairs on a variety of plant equipment and building Self-motivated, able to work independently and within tight deadlines Extremely organized, acute attention to detail, and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness Ability to safely operate (or learn to operate) a forklift, scissor lift, pallet jack, extended boom lift, and/or overhead crane Comfortable working in a non-temperature controlled environment Ability to adapt to the work environment, deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events, while promoting a positive outlook Required to wear PPE equipment at all times while on production floor Ability to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly and remain on feet for long periods of time, crouch or lay down Extremely dependable; consistently at work and on time (notifies if late or absent prior to being late of absent), follows instruction, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance Excellent team member; driven to contribute to the team effort Good communication skills, both written and verbal Continuously seeking and implementing methods to increase product quality, customer service and company efficiency Displays a positive attitude Ambitious, outgoing, loyal and dynamic Respect for the Company’s resources; treat company equipment, funds, time and co-workers with respect
