Job Description

Maintenance Technician – Traveling (NC based for mobilizations) Synergetic Service Corp 311 East Murphy Street, Wallace, NC 28466 Job description About Us Synergetic Service Corp is a growing installation and maintenance service company based in Wallace, North Carolina. Since 2002, we’ve been installing and maintaining vehicle barrier security systems, airport support equipment, and other specialized infrastructure across secure military, aviation, military bases, and government facilities throughout the U.S. Synergetic is growing; and we need an experienced full time maintenance technician to hit the road with us. Our maintenance crews perform preventative maintenance as well as diagnostic services and repair of vehicle barrier systems around the country. This opportunity is for people who have solid skills and experience in a broad range of mechanical, electrical, industrial maintenance and construction techniques and think of themselves as jacks-of-all-trades.

We do routine preventative maintenance:

testing, adjustments, cleaning, greasing, and painting. And we do a lot of troubleshooting and repairs, often under “emergency” conditions. Some of the systems we service are complex, utilizing PLC (programmable logic control ) circuits, relays, motors, pumps, valves, and moving parts; so typical service calls can involve everything from hydraulics and low voltage electrical troubleshooting to fabrication and welding. Often, the hardest part of the job is figuring out what’s wrong with a unit. This requires a logical approach and a tenacious problem solver – someone who rises to challenges, loves to learn, and doesn’t quit until they figure it out. But then we still have to fix it and this part requires that we roll up our sleeves, get out the tools, and do the work. What are Synergetic’s People Like? The people who join us now will be key players in building Synergetic’s future. Those who fit in best tend to be optimistic, efficient, confident but open to suggestion, calm, honest, perceptive, flexible, well-mannered, and very hard-working. They are quick learners. It takes people who are clever, caring, ambitious, and eager to learn and grow in order to be successful here. What is it Like to Work at Synergetic? This is a job for someone who loves to travel a lot. The work that we have lined up for the rest of this year (and beyond) will take place across many states throughout the country. Sometimes our projects take a day or three; sometimes they take several weeks; and we go prepared to stay until they are complete. Crews mobilize to sites either by driving company vehicles or airline travel, depending upon circumstances. If you cringe at the idea of life on the road (suitcases, hotels, and restaurant food), you probably won’t like this job for very long. This is not a typical 40-hour-per-week job. Most of our projects are scheduled during normal work hours, but sometimes sites require night or weekend work. And occasionally, we find ourselves working late in the rain in order to meet a deadline or to get set up for the next day. We work hard and make good livings; but we also recognize that a balance of healthy relationships and habits and getting home to family, friends, and personal recreation activities are among the most important parts of life. Qualifications Proficient in mechanical knowledge and facilities and industrial maintenance Experience with programmable logic controllers Experience with electrical systems Ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings to troubleshoot issues effectively Proficient with precision measuring instruments Strong troubleshooting skills in maintenance tasks Welding experience is a plus (certification not required) Customer service skills and ability to supervise teams Valid Driver’s License Ability to pass a background check for military base access
