Full Job Description Maintenance Technician I or II Location/Schedule:
Winston-Salem, NC, onsite, full time work week of 40 hours. Schedule varies based on responsibilities assigned (but usually within the hours of 7am to 8pm). Participates in on-call rotation with the maintenance team for after-hours repairs.

Paid Holidays Education/Experience/Licensure:
High school graduate or GED required. Must have a minimum of three years’ prior experience in building/facilities maintenance (preferred).
Skills and Competencies:
We’re searching for a Maintenance Technician who brings a mix of technical expertise and interpersonal skills, including: Proficiency in at least two traditional building trades (e.g., carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, HVAC). Ability to troubleshoot and repair building systems with efficiency and accuracy. Familiarity with safety protocols, including safe handling of chemicals. Competence in preventative maintenance and record-keeping. Basic computer skills and familiarity with maintenance software. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing tasks. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. A passion for serving children and the child-serving workforce. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to work locations.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Maintenance Technician , you’ll: Perform maintenance and repairs across various trades, including plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and painting. Conduct preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment. Assist with groundskeeping tasks, including mowing, trimming, and snow removal. Troubleshoot and repair locks, HVAC units, and appliances. Maintain records of completed work and scheduled maintenance. Respond to emergency maintenance requests. Support renovation projects, including plaster and drywall repair. Monitor and maintain building safety systems, including alarms and mechanical systems. Uphold OSHA safety rules and agency policies.
