Maintenance Technician I (Triad Park) Forsyth County – 3.5 Kernersville, NC Job Details Full-time $35,340.73 – $40,641.84 a year 1 day ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Driver’s License 1 year Entry level Full Job Description General Statement of Duties The Forsyth County Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a motivated individual to perform a variety of tasks associated with the park operations unit in a Maintenance Technician I position. This is a great opportunity to work outdoors with a variety of different tasks. This position will be responsible for the operation of a variety of small and large equipment and for the safe handling and use of various janitorial and maintenance chemicals.

Work schedule:

Sunday – Thursday 7:00 am – 4:00 pm Schedule may vary due to staffing levels. Distinguishing Features A successful candidate should have the following knowledge, skills and abilities: Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees. Ability to follow written and oral instruction. Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with the public. Ability to independently adhere to a time schedule. Ability to maintain order and ensure compliance with rules. Ability to operate and care for power equipment and hand tools. Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with the public. Minimum Education and Experience Graduation from high school or GED and one year experience in basic building or grounds maintenance work. A valid driver’s license is required. Must have demonstrated ability to safely operate small to medium motorized equipment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered for the minimum requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities This position will be assigned tasks in areas such as mowing, line trimming, mulching, weeding, spraying, blowing debris and leaves, pruning, trash/litter pickup, restroom cleaning, special events set up and break down. Will operate a variety of equipment. Performs all related work as required.
