Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Assistant to the Owner plays a key role in supporting day-to-day operations at McLaurin Farms and Woods of Terror. This position is responsible for a variety of tasks including general handyman duties, assisting with maintenance projects, and managing pick-up and delivery of materials and supplies. The ideal candidate is reliable, hands-on, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, outdoor, and seasonal environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist Owner (Eddie McLaurin) with daily tasks and special projects. Perform general repairs and handyman work around the property (electrical, carpentry, plumbing, painting, etc.). Ensure tools, equipment, and workspaces are organized and maintained. Pick up and deliver supplies, equipment, and materials from various vendors and locations. Operate company vehicles (including trucks and trailers) safely and responsibly. Help with setup and breakdown of seasonal events and attractions. Communicate effectively with staff and vendors on behalf of the owner. Support emergency fixes or last-minute tasks as needed during operational seasons. Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Qualifications:
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. General knowledge of construction, maintenance, and tools. Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on ladders or in various weather conditions. Good time management and ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Flexibility in schedule, including evenings and weekends during peak season. Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently or as part of a team. Preferred Skills (Not Required): Experience driving trailers or operating small machinery (e.g., skid steer, forklift). Basic mechanical or electrical repair knowledge. Prior experience in event setup or property management.
