Maintenance Technician Job Description The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive, remedial, and routine maintenance tasks related to plant production and facilities equipment. The role involves repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting plant equipment and machinery such as reactors, pumps, agitators, conveyors, piping, and valves, while strictly adhering to safety standards and procedures. Responsibilities Repair, maintain, and troubleshoot plant equipment and machinery such as reactors, pumps, agitators, conveyors, piping, and valves, while adhering to safety standards and procedures at all times. Perform work order repairs, inspections, and adjustments in accordance with pre-established maintenance schedules and as needed or requested. Complete associated documentation and history on work orders. Lead and assist in the fabrication, modification, and implementation of new and existing equipment and machinery, which may involve welding, drilling, grinding, and other metalworking equipment and tools. Ensure proper quality and operation by identifying potential defects or issues, then correcting and/or reporting them as necessary. Utilize computer and mechanical skills for planning and scheduling maintenance tasks, including lockout tag out, confined space entry, safe work permits, line breaks, specialized PPE, and all other site safety-specific procedures. Essential Skills Mechanical skills, specifically related to pumps and preventive maintenance. Ability to troubleshoot equipment and machinery. Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics. Experience with electrical systems and welding. Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical machines and equipment, including maintenance and repair. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $27.00 – $31.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
