Maintenance Mechanic Position Available In Johnston, North Carolina

Position Summary:

Maintenance technicians are responsible for the safe inspection, repair, and general upkeep of all facilities and equipment assigned.

Essential Job Functions:

Ensures all workorders and Preventive Maintenance (PM) inspections and tasks are completed safely, timely, and with a high level of quality.

Solves mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on various production and facility equipment.

Reads, analyzes, and interprets technical procedures, electrical schematics, blueprints, service manuals, and workorders to perform required maintenance tasks.

Assembles/Disassembles new and/or existing machines when required to support production requirements.

Evaluates, repairs, and maintains plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and HVAC system and reports any issues that may require specialized assistance.

Identifies and communicates safety violations and/or injuries to supervisor.

Performs all tasks with appropriate safety equipment and identifies need for additional safety equipment as necessary.

Maintains personal composite tool kit and understands use of tools and intended purpose.

Operates and maintains various forklift and personal lift equipment.

Provides effective and professional verbal and written communication internally and externally.

Executes additional tasks as required.

• Knowledge or ability to learn Conestoga Wood Specialties products, processes, and systems
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must have excellent problem-solving abilities and broad technical knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Ability to learn and gain proficiency in additional systems
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
• Must have excellent attention to detail
• Must have basic computer skills.

Job Requirements

• Requires a High school Diploma or equivalent qualification
• Capable of working independently without close supervision
• The need for judgment and discretion in independent decision-making is required
• Ability to coordinate workflow and communication with department and non-department employees, management officials, vendors, customers, community and trade associates
• Required to communicate effectively through verbal and written forms. Verbal presentations are required to an average extent
• Required to compose emails, reports, and documentation
• Must maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
