As the Division Facilities Coordinator, this position will supervise private contractors and vendors as they perform maintenance to buildings to make sure they meet all requirements of the specifications, which includes Federal and State electrical and construction codes. The employee will perform highly skilled work in the general maintenance and repair of buildings, related equipment, plumbing, heating/cooling, and electrical systems for the facilities in the Division. The employee will coordinate with Facilities Management on new construction and facility upgrades. The employee will serve as the Division contact for the State Fire Marshall and facilitate all necessary repairs to meet code requirements. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies Applicants must submit an application that clearly reflects work experience that demonstrates the following: + Working experience and knowledge of at least one or more building trades such as Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Carpentry + Skill in the use of tools required in at least two moderately complex trades + Working knowledge of the methods, principles, and techniques used in maintenance including electrical, HVAC, carpentry, drywall, roofing, locks, windows, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment + Experience using a computer to prepare and maintain routine records and reports + Experience supervising the work of skilled or semiskilled contractors

Additional Expectations:

The employee will be expected to work outside in varied temperature and weather conditions. The employee will be expected to perform moderate physical activities such as walking, climbing, kneeling, and be able to lift 50 pounds. The employee may need to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required for assigned projects in Division 2. Duties involve operating a state-owned vehicle. Safety toe shoes are needed for this position.
