ProStaffing US LLC Overview ProStaffing is actively recruiting a Packaging Maintenance Mechanic for a US-based, fully integrated pharmaceutical company known for its innovative product development, quality manufacturing, and growing portfolio of branded pharmaceutical products. With facilities in New Jersey and North Carolina and a workforce of over 300 employees, the company specializes in producing complex dosage forms, including creams, ointments, oral liquids, and suppositories. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Perform maintenance, changeovers, and setups of packaging equipment to meet production goals. Ensure safe operation of all packaging machinery. Communicate equipment issues, line breakdowns, and changeovers to supervisors and peers. Document all repairs and changes in logbooks to maintain an accurate maintenance history. Collaborate across shifts to ensure smooth transitions and consistent equipment performance. Troubleshoot equipment issues independently and within a team setting. Assist in training and mentoring new team members. Maintain and replenish spare parts inventory and support MRO system updates. Perform all required preventive maintenance (PM) activities. Interpret equipment manuals and basic electrical/pneumatic schematics. Initiate GMP documentation such as Change Controls and Engineering Change Controls. Participate in continuous improvement and special projects within the packaging department. Follow all company policies, SOPs, cGMP, and cGDP standards. Perform other tasks as assigned by management. Education, Training, and Work Experience High School diploma or equivalent preferred; relevant technical or mechanical experience considered. Experience in mechanical/electrical maintenance; familiarity with shop equipment including lathe, mill, and welding is beneficial. Specialized Knowledge and Skills Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to resolve complex technical issues. Proficient with hand tools, measuring devices, power tools, and basic shop tools. Basic knowledge of computer systems and ability to document electronically. Effective verbal and written communication; ability to use radios, phones, and email. Capable of performing changeovers and set-ups across multiple packaging lines. Familiarity with electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Demonstrates initiative, ownership, and attention to safety and quality. Equipment and Applications Hands-on experience with a variety of packaging equipment, including but not limited to: Fillers, cartoners, bundlers, case packers, palletizers, and collators Applicator feeders, tube feeders, bottle unscramblers Induction sealers, re-torquers, check weighers, and scales Conveyors, tape machines, pallet jacks, and pallet lifts Work Environment and Physical Demands Required use of GMP-compliant PPE (lab coats, gloves, masks, hair/beard covers). Safety glasses required in production areas and workshops. Ability to perform repetitive tasks and stand for extended periods. Regular lifting of up to 50 lbs. Must follow Lock Out/Tag Out procedures and adhere to machine guarding standards.
