Facilities Maintenance Technician Position Available In Macon, North Carolina

• The Town of Highlands is currently looking to hire a full-time Facility Maintenance Technician.

00An employee in this class performs a variety of tasks related to the preventive maintenance and repair of Town buildings and facilities. The employee performs a variety of semi-skilled building trades work such as basic electrical, mechanical and plumbing tasks and custodial work. Work involves responding to requests for service, planning and scheduling work, troubleshooting maintenance problems, making repairs, and obtaining prices for equipment and supplies.

Job duties included

• Responds to calls for service and work orders regarding facility maintenance, troubleshooting problems, and making repairs
• Paints a variety of surfaces and moves furniture
• Inspects facilities; prioritizes necessary repairs, improvements and preventive maintenance; follows all safety rules and regulations to minimize risk and enhance the safety of employees and visitors; checks property and grounds for unsafe conditions
• Assists with athletic field maintenance tasks; drags and line ballfields; may assist with mowing ballfields
• May assist in the set up and break down to tables, chairs, AV equipment, and stages for special events; may be assigned to perform labor with other Town departments as needed
• May perform preventive maintenance on the pool, pool equipment and pool facilities to ensure safety and health requirements
• Operates a variety of power and hand tools for repairs and maintenance; operates a Town vehicle
• Follows safety procedures in performance of the work.

• REQUIREMENTS

• High School diploma or equivalent desired; preferably supplemented by coursework in mechanical and/or electrical trade skills, and considerable experience in building maintenance work
• OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
