In addition to monitoring the BHS, the CRO will track and generate work orders and reports through the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS). In the event that a Maintenance Technician is unavailable to assist, the CRO will step in within close proximity to reset the system and restore functionality.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitoring FIDS and HMI screens
  • Dispatching employees
  • Monitor statistical reports
  • Monitor set make-up assignments as required.
  • Attending to stoppages and bag jams (if available)
  • Resetting faults and alarm (if available)
  • General labor
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Technically inclined, with potential to learn and grow into maintaining baggage handling systems

  • Physically able to pick up and transport up to 70 pounds
  • Good PC skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required
  • Ability to complete training and security checks required to receive security badge for access to restricted airport areas
  • Observe and comply with Company, OSHA and FAA regulations regarding safety and security
  • Flexible in shift work and able to work nights, weekends, overtime and holidays
  • 2+ years of work experience.
  • Experience in baggage handling systems and/or automated systems in material handling industries, operations and maintenance.
  • Must be able to work any shift, including nights, weekends and holidays
  • High-Level control (SAC) skills
  • Software documentation and IT network knowledge
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities

Junior Tech Key Responsibilities:
Basic Maintenance:

Perform routine tasks such as cleaning conveyors, removing debris, and inspecting equipment for potential problems.

Preventative Maintenance:

Carry out tasks like greasing and adjusting conveyor systems to ensure smooth operation.

Troubleshooting & Repair:

Assist senior technicians in diagnosing and resolving equipment failures, making minor adjustments as needed.

Jam Clearing:

Safely and efficiently clear baggage jams in the conveyor system.

Safety:

Work safely in various environments, including moving equipment, small spaces, and potentially hazardous areas.

Training:

Attend required training to learn and improve skills.

Compliance:

Follow company and industry safety and compliance procedures.

Manual Labor:

Assist with manual labor tasks related to baggage handling and conveyor systems. Assisting with

Baggage Marshalling:

Assist in staging, sorting, carrying, and placing baggage

Skills and Qualifications:
Basic Technical Skills:

Knowledge of basic maintenance principles, practices, and methods.

Physical Fitness:

Ability to perform manual labor and work in various conditions.

Problem-Solving:

Ability to identify and address potential issues with the baggage handling system.

Safety Awareness:

Strong understanding of safety hazards and precautions.

Communication:

Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues.

Teamwork:

Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent is typically required.

Experience:

While entry-level, some experience in maintenance or related fields can be an advantage.
