PrincipalDuties/Responsibilities:

• Performs expert level break-fix ⪯ventative maintenance.

This includes but is not limited to:observing devises in operation to location root cause of problem;dismantling devices to gain access to and remove defective parts;examining parts to detect imperfections; adjustment of functionalparts of devices and control instruments; repair and/or replacementof defective parts; testing of device to observe performance; andperforming tests for electrical circuitry and mechanical systems;reconditioning and repairing machine tools.

• Identifies andsources parts, supplies and repair items as necessary. Performsevaluations of alternatives to improve cost and / or reliability ofequipment.
• Independently performs maintenance as per industrystandards.
• Works with customer counterparts to optimizemaintenance, reliability, and preventative maintenance procedures.
• May be required to setup and operate multiple machiningoperations including but not limited to: lathe, drill press,grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. Mayperform welding tasks.
• Conforms and complies with customercontractor codes of conduct, housekeeping standards, and safetyprocesses
• Documents work performed in service reports, applicablemanagement systems, and written explanation regarding observationand collected equipment performance data.
• Provides assistance tolower level technicians and leadership to project teams. Performsexpert functions as a part of training and development.
• Troubleshoots and analyzes complex control systems to resolvein-depth software/ hardware and configuration problems.
• Utilizesadvanced maintenance technologies to collect equipment performancedata. Observes trends and makes recommendations.
• Completes andconducts on-the-job training and technical self-study programs forcareer development.
• Follows all safety related policies, rules,regulations, technical instructions and guidelines.

Competencies:

Essential KSAs:

• HighSchool Graduate or equivalent (GED).
• Associates degree with aTechnical focus and 10 years of related experience in specificindustry; or, 12 years of experience in specific industry.
• Possesses comprehensive understanding of electrical, mechanical,fluid power and control systems. Can analyze the problem,synthesize alternative solutions, and perform repairs.
• Must beable to use basic hand tools and specialized tools as appropriate.
• Extensive travel required.

Desirable KSAs:

• Experience in condition based maintenancetechniques, precision mechanical alignments, and maintenance ofapplicable process equipment.
• Experience in programmable logiccontrollers, field device troubleshooting, and maintenance ofelectrical drive and motor systems.

While performing the duties of this job,the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; usehands/fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb,ascend/descend or balance to heights that may require a ladder orlift; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in confined spaces; and talkor hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employeemust occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. Theemployee is regularly required to use close vision and colorvision. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weatherconditions and risk of electrical shock. Work is typicallyperformed in a factory environment and is usually very loud. In thefactory environment, the employee may be exposed to hazardousmaterials and/or greasy or slippery factory floors.
