Summary:

As part of the maintenance team, you will be responsible for executing repair work and troubleshooting failures that maintain and improve the facility production equipment as well as the overall general maintenance for the entire facility. This position is responsible for working with the machine operators to understand issues and help correct issues with the machinery. The critical work performed directly affects the impact of safety, function, longevity and overall operation of the mechanical equipment at the plant.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform preventive and routine maintenance on all equipment. Assist with the training of operators in minor maintenance tasks. Assist operators with machine troubleshooting to correct quality issues and minimize downtime. Evaluate trends/patterns on repaired equipment and implement actions that will eliminate repetitive repair work. Install new equipment or upgrades to existing equipment. Source and order parts as needed and assist in managing the spare parts area. Complete documentation of work performed. Set an example of safe work practices in every job performed.

Key Qualifications and traits:

Diploma, certificate, degree or apprenticeship in a maintenance, millwrighting, electrical or a mechanical trade. Highly skilled tradesperson with 4+ years of experience in maintenance of mechanical power transfer systems, pneumatics, electrical and electronics and hydraulics, Basic welding and fabrication expertise preferred. Fork truck operation and rigging experience. Competence reading electrical and mechanical schematics. Must be able to work with limited supervision. Excellent time management and the ability to handle multiple priorities. Clearly communicate verbally and in writing. Customer service inclination, the entire facility is your customer. Detail oriented with a natural preference to see things orderly. Computer literate in Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel and Outlook).

Working Conditions:

12-hour continental shift schedule with flexibility in work hours. One week you will work three 12hr shifts (36 hrs) and the following week four 12 hr shifts (40 regular hours and 8 hrs of overtime). Primarily plant floor; some office and computer (email, purchasing, research) time. The plant is air conditioned, but you may from time to time be introduced to work in environments that include hot/cold temperatures. You may be asked to work in elevated and confined spaces. You will not be asked to lift more than 40lbs without assistance / tools/ equipment to help you.
