Maintenance Manager Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the optimal operation of all machinery and equipment in the plastics/blow molding facility. This role involves performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and making necessary repairs to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on blow molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and other production machinery. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and implement effective solutions. Conduct repairs and replacements of faulty components to ensure continuous operation. Collaborate with production and quality control teams to address equipment-related issues promptly. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, parts used, and equipment status. Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all maintenance activities. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency. Provide training and guidance to junior maintenance staff as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a related field preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance within a plastics/blow molding or similar manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and working in confined spaces. Exposure to loud noises, fumes, and varying temperatures.
