$23.00 – $0.00 Commensurate with Experience SUMMARY This position is based in the Landscape Management Section of the General Services Department and is responsible for providing technical and administrative support for tree maintenance operations. We are offering a $2,000 sign-on bonus.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Properly and safely operate small to medium-scale arboriculture equipment, including: Stump grinder Wood chipper Bucket truck Grapple Truck Knuckle Boom Supervise crew in the absence of the Crew Chief Maintain (clean, sharpen, make minor repairs) assigned tools and equipment Assist in manual labor and flagging traffic as required Comply with all safety rules so that all jobs and tasks are performed in a safe manner according to City safety policies, COOT, NCDOT, and OSHA regulations May be required to work in adverse weather and environmental conditions Participate in the emergency on-call program (includes nights and weekends)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Arboriculture experience with knowledge in tree identification and diagnosing insect and disease issues Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to prepare accurate daily work reports Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to work effectively with others Ability to execute tasks with attention to detail

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Graduate or equivalent NC Class A Commercial Drivers License
