Maintenance Technician – II Embassy Suites by Hilton Wilmington Riverfront 9 Estelle Lee Pl, Wilmington, NC 28401 •We offer Competitive Pay, 401k, Benefits and Hilton Hotel Discounts! •SUMMARY The Engineering II is responsible for: Respond to all engineering service calls, giving priority to guest requests, and maintain hotel equipment in an efficient, safe, accident-free manner.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Engineering II’s primary responsibilities will include: Respond to and handle guest requests in a courteous, efficient, safe manner. Perform preventive maintenance and necessary repairs all hotel equipment, including kitchen, laundry, boiler, plumbing, pool, HVAC, electrical and guest rooms. Monitor and maintain all engineering functions when full engineering staff is not available (i.e. weekends and evenings). Respond to all emergency situations including fire alarms, bomb threats, disasters and power failures; notify the appropriate authorities. Make rounds of the hotel property to ensure everything is in working order. Clean and maintain all equipment and work areas. Complete maintenance requests, take equipment and meter readings and maintain log to notify the next shift. Document all parts used and parts needed to be purchased. Handle elevator breakdowns. Report any unsafe conditions to the Director of Engineering
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITY
Must have basic knowledge of building mechanical systems and controls, energy management and building maintenance skills. May require ability to drive pick-up truck and snow removal equipment. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities are required.
EQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education -High school diploma. Experience – Two years experience in related field preferred.
