Job Description

  • Summary:
  • Seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of machinery, equipment, and facilities. This role is crucial for maintaining production uptime, minimizing equipment downtime, and supporting the overall safety and functionality of the plant.
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on production equipment, machinery, and facility infrastructure
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure machinery and equipment are operating at optimal levels and to prevent breakdowns
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on various types of equipment used in the production process
  • Respond to maintenance emergencies quickly and effectively, minimizing downtime
  • Assist in the installation and setup of new equipment or machinery
  • Perform basic carpentry, welding, and fabrication work as required
  • Monitor and maintain the operation of facility systems and general building infrastructure
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, including parts inventory, repair logs, and preventative maintenance schedules
  • Adhere to safety protocols and help lead the culture of driving compliance with company safety policies and industry regulations
  • Work collaboratively with other team embers to support daily operations and meet production goals
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and other departments regarding maintenance activities and issues
  • Participate in training and development programs to stay current with industry best practices and emerging technolgoes.
  • Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in industrial maintenance, mechanical systems, or related field preferred
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician, preferably in a manufacturing or lumber industry setting. Willing to develop and train the right candidate
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
  • Strong problem solving skills and the ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting heavy objects and working in various weather conditions
  • Good communication skills and a team oriented attitude
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including some weekend or off-hours (if needed).
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and life up to 50lbs. Not afraid of heights or confined spaces (when necessary)
