Electrical and Mechanical Technician Job Description We are seeking a skilled Electrical and Mechanical Technician with a strong emphasis on electrical troubleshooting. This role involves working in a highly automated manufacturing facility, focusing on conveyors and electro-mechanical components. The ideal candidate will have expertise in high-speed rotary equipment and be able to make permanent fixes to prevent recurring issues. Responsibilities Perform a combination of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting on automated machinery. Work with tight tolerances and high precision rotary equipment. Comfortably handle 480v electrical systems and single and 3-phase motors/drives. Utilize base PLC experience to work with inputs and outputs. Read and interpret schematics and blueprints, particularly European Standards. Demonstrate electrical troubleshooting and PLC experience as a top priority. Apply knowledge of NEC codes and OSHA safety disciplines. Read and understand ladder logic programs. Maintain equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Possess a minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance experience. Essential Skills Electrical troubleshooting and PLC experience. Experience with motors and drives, both 3-phase and single-phase. Ability to read US schematics. Base PLC experience with inputs and outputs. Comfortable working with 480v systems. Knowledge of Instrumentation and Controls, PLCs, VFDs. Familiarity with NFPA 70E and the National Electrical Code. Additional Skills & Qualifications HS Diploma or proof of GED required. Associates degree preferred, but licenses, certifications, or verifiable training accepted. High-speed manufacturing experience is a must. Technical degree highly preferred. Experience with control panels and online PLC troubleshooting is a plus. Why Work Here? Work Environment The work environment is a large, climate-controlled facility spanning roughly 16 acres. The role requires working 12-hour night shifts, with initial training on day shifts for 2-3 months. Night shift hours are 6:30pm – 6:30am on a 2,2,3 schedule, averaging 48 hours per week. Personal protective equipment such as steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and ear protection is required, along with an energizer uniform. Technicians need to bring their own tools, but specialty tools and uniforms are provided. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Asheboro, North Carolina. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 – $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
