Maintenance Manger Job Summary and Essential Functions:
Should be professional, organized, technical, ethical, and have the people skills to: Manage tool inventory by means of keeping a running inventory of all tools and supplies in the tool cage on software provided (ex. excel spreadsheet, Maintenance Care, etc.) Maintain adequate inventory of tools and supplies at all times Ability to enforce dispensing rules and insure proper documentation is provided by employees and signed by their direct supervisor before dispensing tools or supplies Dispense tools and supplies in and out of cage and keep dispensing records by maintaining a log of who, what, when and where item is issued Make requisitions to buyers or maintenance manager for tools and supplies as needed to maintain adequate inventory levels Receive deliveries and verify items in boxes match items on packing slips, deliver packing slips to buyers Provide inventory reports as requested by management Make repairs on power tools and pneumatic tools as needed to maintain tool backup supply Ability to use proper hand tools to make repairs Ability to stand in one place for long periods of time Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with others Ability to assist maintenance on an as needed basis (possible overtime)
Other Functions:
Report any safety violations or issues to the supervisor immediately for prompt resolution. Help promote good housekeeping with assigned area through participation in 6S zone(s). Maintain supplies at workstation. Use assigned timecard daily to accurately record time worked. Attend weekly shift meetings and/or monthly plant meetings, if required. Actively participate in all plant safety programs, depending on location. Other as deemed necessary by supervision
Job Requirements:
Education:
High school graduate/GED. Vocational or Technical College certificate / degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
Minimum of one year of industrial experience, or at least one year of industrial manufacturing with documented mechanical or electrical aptitude.
Knowledge:
Knowledge of basic carpentry and tooling. Must have excellent mechanical aptitude.
Mental/Physical/Visual Demands:
Position requires walking, standing, heavy lifting, bending, and twisting. Ability to learn basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills with on-the-job training. Must be able to lift 86 pounds maximum and lift with assistance 87 to 100 pounds. Ability to work well with others. Ability to work with some limited supervision to perform job. Must be skilled in working with hand and electrical tools.
Working Conditions:
Manufacturing plant environment with exposure to equipment noise, temperature extremes (hot and cold), and dust.
Equipment/Tools Used:
Basic hand tools, fork lift, hand power tools, cutting torch, plasma cutter, soldering iron, volt meter, amp meter, utility knife. Hearing protection, safety glasses, and steel toed shoes required.
