• Job Overview Maintenance Mechanics performs preventive and correctivemaintenance on material handling equipment, including daily systemsinspections of mechanical and electrical components to include butnot limited to material handling equipment, powered equipment andphysical building structures.

• Access the full menu of benefits offerings What you will do Observes and listens to operating machines or equipment to diagnosemachine malfunction and determine need for adjustment orrepair.

Trouble shoot and repair material handling equipment includingsorters and conveyors. Identify problems requiring outside vendorsand inform the Manager or Supervisor. Performs preventative maintenance on material handling equipment,including daily systems inspections of mechanical, hydraulic andelectrical components. Reports any problems to the Manager orSupervisor. Utilize the computerized maintenance management system. Monitors,reports, and documents the usage and replacement of equipment andparts. Dismantles machine or equipment to examine parts for defect or toremove defective part. Replaces defective part with new part or repairs or reproducesparts. Assembles and test operates machine to verify correction ofmalfunction. Maintains and lubricates machine tools andequipment. Performs preventative maintenance on facility; carpentry, plumbing,and electrical duties. Knowledge of operation and safe storage practices of ARC and MIGwelding equipment to include OXY/ACETYLENE, and PLASMA welding andcutting. Maintain a safe working environment at all times. Report possiblesafety concerns to the Manager or Supervisor. Assembles and test operates machine to verify correction ofmalfunction. Maintains and lubricates machine tools andequipment. Disassembles, inspects and performs routine repairs and rebuilds ofdefective parts on all equipment associated with the automatedwarehouse. May be required to install or recharge batteries for anybattery-powered material handling equipment. Adheres to all maintenance safe work practices and maintains a safeworking environment at all times. Removes dust, dirt, grease, and waste material from machines, andmay paint machines or equipment to prevent corrosion. Performs basic electrical tasks associated with but not limited toreplacing motors, fuses, and switches. Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthensrelationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues,customers, and communities. Who you are High School Diploma or equivalent required. 1-2 years direct experience. Commercial or industrial maintenance related experience and/ortraining; or equivalent combination of education andexperience. Ability to read and interpret instructional documents such assafety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, andprocedural manuals. Resourceful self-starter, works well independently as well as partof a team. Must be proficient in the use of computers and handheldtechnology. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including day, evening,weekends, and/or holidays. Essential physical requirements you will perform Position requires prolonged periods of standing/walking aroundstore or department. May involve reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping, climbingladders, depth perception and color vision. Frequent use of computers and other technology necessary to performjob duties, including handheld electronic equipment. Frequently lift/move up to 50lbs. Random drug testing for all colleagues will be conducted on amonthly or semi-monthly basis, depending upon factors including butnot limited to the size of the facility and the number ofcolleagues on roll. Colleagues will be randomly selected fortesting by a third party. Testing must be completed on the sameworkday the colleague is informed of selection for testing, absentextenuating circumstances.
