Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and safety-conscious Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our team at a high-production lumber mill. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems that support mill operations. Your expertise will be key to minimizing downtime, improving equipment reliability, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on sawmill machinery and equipment, including saws, conveyors, debarkers, sorters, and hydraulic systems. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system issues using diagnostic tools and schematics. Install, align, and test new equipment or components to ensure proper functionality. Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and parts inventories . Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and perform timely repairs to reduce downtime. Follow all company safety procedures, lockout/tagout protocols , and OSHA regulations. Collaborate with production teams to identify recurring issues and recommend improvements. Support plant upgrades, modifications, and facility improvements as needed. Operate forklifts, man lifts, and other tools or equipment safely as part of maintenance tasks. Participate in on-call rotations or emergency response situations as required.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in industrial maintenance preferred. Minimum 2-4 years of experience in maintenance within a lumber mill, sawmill, or similar industrial environment. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems , electrical circuits , motors , PLC troubleshooting , and hydraulic/pneumatic systems . Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics , and equipment manuals. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welders, and diagnostic instruments. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment . Comfortable working in varying environmental conditions (heat, cold, noise, dust). Willingness to work flexible hours , including overtime, weekends, or night shifts if needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

Welding and fabrication skills (MIG, TIG, stick welding). Forklift and aerial lift certification. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. Stand, bend, kneel, and climb ladders throughout the shift. Work at heights and in confined spaces when necessary.
