Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems, and completing daily repair requests across the facility. This position ensures the safe and effective operation of our hospital infrastructure by tackling a wide variety of tasks—from carpentry and plumbing to groundskeeping and vehicle maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
Respond promptly to repair and work order requests across hospital and satellite facilities Perform scheduled preventive maintenance inspections and testing Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plumbing, heating, sanitation, refrigeration, and electrical systems Carry out carpentry projects from rough to finish work Maintain hospital grounds, including snow removal and lawn care Monitor and maintain hospital vehicles, including inspections and registrations Collaborate with department staff to recommend solutions for maintenance issues Participate in the on-call rotation and support emergency responses as needed Ensure compliance with Critical Access Hospital safety standards and departmental SOPs Review policies annually and complete all required training Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is capable of taking direction and independently carrying out tasks with minimal supervision.
This position includes on-call responsibilities approximately one week per month, requiring availability to respond to maintenance needs outside of regular business hours.
A minimum of 1-2 years of prior experience in a commercial maintenance setting is required.
A plumbing or electrical license is preferred. Alternatively, candidates should demonstrate strong aptitude and a willingness to learn and retain technical knowledge relevant to the role.
