This is not a design desk job—it’s a critical hands-onleadership role in one of New Jersey’s most established industrialoperations. We’re seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to leadreliability initiatives, troubleshoot plant systems, and manageongoing mechanical operations in a high-throughput manufacturingfacility. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer whothrives on the production floor and knows how to keep equipmentrunning safely, efficiently, and profitably. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee mechanical maintenance for high-demand equipment: pumps,presses, fans, dryers, refiners, gearboxes, conveyors, and more
- Lead preventative and predictive maintenance efforts, includingvibration, oil, and thermal analysis
- Manage repair projects,shutdowns, and capital maintenance efforts from concept toexecution
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (production,safety, procurement) to align operations with KPIs and plant goals
- Monitor and enforce compliance with OSHA, EPA, and otherregulatory standards
- Supervise contractors and internal techteams during overhauls and installations
- Contribute to budgetforecasting, project planning, and cost control strategies
- Serveas part of the plant’s emergency response and on-call supportstructure Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in MechanicalEngineering or related technical discipline
- 10 years ofmechanical maintenance leadership in heavy industrial or paper/pulpmanufacturing
- Strong working knowledge of steam systems, rotatingmachinery, high-horsepower motors, MCCs, hydraulics, and pneumatics
- Experience with CMMS systems and a deep understanding ofreliability-centered maintenance (RCM/TPM)
- Proven track recordmanaging projects and solving field-based mechanical issues
- Ability to lead teams, develop talent, and deliver results underpressure Preferred Qualifications
- Capital project managementexperience
- Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma tools andmethodologies
- Training experience or background in technicalskill development
