Maintenance Technician Job Description We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, routine inspections, and repairs on various equipment including conveyors, automation, and robotics. This role requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting and problem-solving, ensuring smooth operation of all facility systems. Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance, routine inspections, and ad-hoc repairs on assigned conveyors, automation, robotics, and ancillary equipment. Troubleshoot and correct issues on out-of-service equipment and escalate to leadership or senior technicians as needed. Record maintenance issues in the maintenance log and document all work in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and ticketing systems. Maintain accurate records of operating logs for fire pumps, generators, HVAC equipment, and other facility systems. Mentor maintenance personnel, assisting in skill development and knowledge enhancement. Assist maintenance mechanics with tasks requiring two people or when operational needs demand. Perform facility and building project work including light bulb replacement, door repairs, furniture installation, and plumbing repairs. Assemble and test equipment to ensure correct operation, analyze production delays, and implement corrective actions. Certify on all industrial lift equipment, including pickers, reaches, skates, booms, and scissor lifts. Oversee projects such as minor renovations, inventory management, contractor oversight, and building efficiency improvements. Inspect and monitor routine maintenance performed by junior engineers, providing guidance and training as needed. Essential Skills Maintenance and troubleshooting expertise Experience with conveyors, robotics, and automation equipment Understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical systems, and blueprints Electrical knowledge and preventive maintenance skills Computer proficiency, including PLC troubleshooting Additional Skills & Qualifications 2-5 years of experience with conveyor, automation, or robotics equipment repair and maintenance Associates Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, HVAC, or equivalent Graduate of an apprenticeship program or current trade certification Experience with PLC logic systems and the ability to troubleshoot Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes Physical ability to perform essential functions, including lifting up to 75 lbs, standing for extended periods, and working at heights Why Work Here? Openings are available for various shifts, including weekend day shift and weekday second and third shifts. The role involves flexibility with hours and occasional overtime. Safety procedures and personal protective equipment are mandatory to maintain a safe work environment. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Montgomery, New York. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $69160.00 – $73840.00/yr. Our benefit package includes health insurance, life and disability, 401(k) contributions, paid time off, etc., for employees working 30 or more hours per week on average. For roles where employees work less than 30 hours per week, benefits include 401(k) contributions as well as access to the Employee Assistance Program, Employee Resource Groups and the Employee Service Corp.
