out of 5 stars Manorville, NY 11949 Job Summary The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the day to day repairs and maintenance of assigned residences including but not limited to carpentry, plumbing, painting, snow plowing and electric.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Connotes Essential Functions E-1 Repairs, cleans and assists in the installation of plumbing, heating, refrigeration, laundry or sewer equipment and machinery.
Possesses ability to:

a. Cut and thread pipes. b. Install sanitary fixtures. c. Make repairs to pipe lines. E-2 Receives, updates and closes assigned work on his/her handheld device. E-3 Operates a wide variety of hand and power tools in regards to construction, remodeling, repairing doors, window frames, floors, cabinets, furniture, moldings, scaffolds and steps. E-4 Installs locks, refinishes furniture and makes concrete forms. E-5 Cuts, shapes and fastens wood and related materials using power tools. Erects building frames, lays flooring and joints, fabricates other wooden articles. E-6 Inspects, repairs and installs a wide variety of electrical equipment, fixtures and wirings. E-7 Installs and repairs roofing and siding; performs related mechanical operations. E-8 Mixes and applies cement or plaster to floors, wall and ceilings. Lays bricks and tiles and makes repairs to asphalt roofs. E-9 Prepares and paints or varnishes interior or exterior building surfaces and allied equipment. E-10 Assists in snow detail as assigned. E-11 Responds to agency wide calls and issues in a timely manner during scheduled on-call rotation. 12

  • Maintains a clean, safe work area at all times and keeps tools and equipment in good working condition. 13

  • All other duties as assigned. Position Requirements and Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Valid NYS Driver’s license
  • Complete and maintain SCIP, Adult CPR, AMAP and Driver’s certifications, as per IGHL policy
  • Must have a personal smart phone to be used for work purposes
  • Work regularly scheduled days, including those that fall on holidays
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. at least five times per hour
  • Able to sit, stand or bend throughout the day
  • Enthusiastic team player that handles stressful situations professionally with ease
  • Ability to work independently
  • Knowledgeable in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting and electric
