POSITION SUMMARY
Works independently with minimum supervision from 330p-1130p Monday through Friday am. Installs, maintains and repairs mechanical equipment and tools in the Plant. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Examines equipment and tools to diagnose trouble. Disassembles mechanical equipment and tools, repairs or replaces worn or broken parts, and reassembles. Adjusts parts of mechanical devices as needed. Inspects completed repairs. Performs preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment and tools in accordance with established preventive maintenance program. Cleans, lubricates and/or replaces parts. Provides basic maintenance to plant structure and performs electrical and light plumbing work. Recommends repairs by external vendors, vehicle or other specialized mechanics as needed. Documents maintenance work performed and maintains related records and files, including MSDS. Requisitions new or replacement parts, tools or equipment for the approval of the Maintenance Supervisor. Assists with the planning and installation or rearrangement of machinery or equipment. Assists with investigations of work related accidents and injuries or sabotage that involve machines, equipment and/or tools. Participates in the development of new equipment and finished goods processes. Communicates regularly with the Plant Manager, Supervisors, Purchasing, and Plant Administrators in order to coordinate matters related to maintenance of equipment. Provides input for the annual Plant budget and capital expenditures planning. Maintains knowledge of current trends in the field and maintains appropriate licensure or certifications. Attends appropriate training programs to remain current on machines, equipment and other maintenance related areas. Assists with special projects as requested. Performs other assignments as directed.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education:
High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED):
Required Experience:
1 plus years of experience
Computer Skills:
Familiar with basic computer programs.
Certifications & Licenses:
Valid Driver’s License.
Other Requirements:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, to interpret miscellaneous drawings and schematics.
