Industrial Maintenance Technician 2.5 2.5 out of 5 stars 137 Northgate Cir, New Castle, PA 16105 Exciting opportunity to join our team at AMG Chrome US LLC in New Castle. We are looking to recruit an Industrial Maintenance Technician to support the production process of high purity briquettes through our vacuum furnaces. We are looking for candidates who can provide a cost effective breakdown, repair and preventative maintenance service to the business, reduce downtime, improve plant performance and reliability by identifying and implementing engineering solutions and to be an effective, valued, member of our team.

The main duties include:
To participate as an active member of the team To minimise equipment downtime Troubleshooting of known and unknown issues related to plant breakdown To diagnose and remedy equipment/plant faults Carry out planned preventative maintenance tasks Practise continuous improvement, innovation and pro-activeness for improved ways of working offering possible solutions to problems encountered wherever possible Work closely with production to achieve production needs To work under own initiative with minimal supervision To carry out all necessary IT based & manual recording tasks relevant to the operation of the department Facilitate lean ways of working to minimise waste and maximise efficiency, ensuring departmental housekeeping objectives are achieved We are looking for candidates with the following experience: Apprentice trained mechanical bias with proven time serviced experience / training At least 3 years experience within a medium to heavy manufacturing environment Good hands-on knowledge of mechanical plant machinery including pneumatic, hydraulics and at least basic electrical. Experience with vacuum furnaces and PLCs would be of great benefit. Experience in plumbing (sweating pipe, flange fittings, etc) Bench fitting skills Experience in the use of overhead cranes and slinging techniques and use of Fork Lift Trucks Proficient use of workshop equipment Able to Oxy/Acetylene weld and cut / to Electric Arc weld and MIG weld Good fault finding and problem solving skills, coupled together with the ability to work under pressure Ability to understand engineering drawings a plus General knowledge of health and safety standards and the ability to carry out on the job risk assessments Good organisational and decision-making skills, including the ability to make quick and accurate decisions Ability to maintain high standards without supervision Strong attention to detail Progressive attitude towards training IT Literate (Able to input work and times into a maintenance management system) Good verbal, listening & written communication skills
