Bazzini has been in business since 1886. 2nd and 3rd shift positions available. Position Summary Join our dynamic team at our confection and nut production facility in Allentown, PA! We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Mechanic to ensure our production machinery operates smoothly and safely. The ideal candidate brings a strong mechanical background, experience in a food manufacturing environment, and a passion for keeping our candy and nut production lines running seamlessly. Key Responsibilities Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on diverse production equipment, including chocolate molding lines, conveyors, packaging machines, mixers and cookers. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems Diagnose issues with variable speed drives, PLC systems (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens), and basic controls. Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and technical documentation for accurate repairs. Assist in equipment setup and changeovers to support efficient production runs. Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns to maintain operational continuity. Maintain detailed maintenance records and communicate equipment status to supervisors. Adhere to OSHA, plant safety policies, and SQF (Safe Quality Food) regulations, utilizing provided personal protective equipment (PPE). Collaborate with production and quality teams to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

Qualifications Required :

High school diploma or equivalent (technical school or certification preferred). 3-5 years of experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance. Proficiency in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair. Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Familiarity with PLC systems (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and basic controls troubleshooting. Basic welding and fabrication skills. Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.

Preferred :

Experience in a food manufacturing or packaging environment. Knowledge of SQF, GMP, or other food safety standards. Advanced PLC programming or troubleshooting skills. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Regularly stand, walk, reach, climb, bend, and work from ladders or platforms. Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels. Work Environment Fast-paced production facility with exposure to moving mechanical parts, moderate noise, and food-grade cleaning chemicals.
