Maintenance Technician

A – R9397 DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES

Troubleshoot breakdowns on plant machines Make repairs independently Perform light electrical repairs Prioritize sequence of repairs or jobs Identify parts for restocking to inventory Identify proper parts, materials and tools needed for specific jobs Make simple parts or equipment and tools Perform light repair on the boiler and related steam equipment Identify the proper PM schedules Work in a safe and efficient manner using all personal protective and safety equipment and devices that are required, and comply with company safety policies and procedures Identify and eliminate work hazards Know and practice proper lock-out/tag out minor servicing procedures Know safe and proper clean up procedures Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors Performance Measures and OutcomesAdherence to safety policies and procedures Quality of work Production goals Education/CertificationLevel RequiredLevel Desired DescriptionElectro/Mechanical degree or equivalent• High school diploma or equivalent• Technical degree Additional Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesSafety sensitive position – ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner Ability to work overtime and weekends as required based upon the needs of the business Ability to work on a rotating shift as needed Ability to effectively work in teams: meet deadlines and responsibilities to help team meet goals, listen to others and value opinions, promote a team atmosphere Ability to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles Quality consciousness: attentive to detail & accuracy, look for improvements to work processes and take advantage of tools & resources, find root cause to quality problems

adapt to change and adjust to meet needs, open to new ideas, take on new responsibilities as required Ability to read, comprehend and, where necessary, complete: blueprints, electrical schematics, operating and maintenance manuals, work orders, repair parts requests, MSDS forms Ability to operate and understand measuring equipment such as: standard or metric tape measure, micrometer, caliper, scale, VOM (Volt/Ohm Meter), steam/vacuum/air/hydraulic gauges General knowledge of machine operations and mechanical functions Ability to set up and operate lathe, milling machine, drill press, band saw, all portable power hand tools, welding, grinders and hydraulic press Basic math and reading skills Mechanical aptitude Equal Opportunity Employer
