Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine cleaning, light maintenance, and repair tasks across multiple childcare center sites. This role ensures that our centers remain safe, sanitary, and functional in accordance with Department of Human Services (DHS) licensing regulations and Keystone STARS standards. Key Responsibilities Handle general building maintenance including minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall and painting tasks Set up and break down furniture or equipment for classrooms and events Conduct regular inspections and promptly address maintenance issues Monitor and maintain HVAC filters, light bulbs as needed Maintain exterior areas including trash removal, basic landscaping, and snow/ice removal Complete work orders and communicate supply needs or major repairs to the Site Director Travel between multiple sites using a personal or company vehicle as required
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED (required) Valid Driver’s License Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs and perform physical labor, including standing, walking, and bending for extended periods Minimum 1 year of experience in maintenance, janitorial, or related work Basic knowledge of building systems, hand tools, and cleaning protocols Familiarity with safety, sanitation, and DHS/childcare licensing regulations preferred Must be flexible, dependable, and able to prioritize tasks across multiple locations Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, child abuse clearance, FBI fingerprinting, and health assessment (as required by childcare regulations)
