Full-Time We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Knitting/Sewing Maintenance Tech to join our team. If you have a passion for problem-solving and hands-on work, we want to hear from you!
Position Summary/Objective:
As a key member of the Maintenance team, the Knitting/Sewing Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring all knitting, linking, and sewing machines are in proper working condition to minimize downtime and meet plant and department requirements. This position performs preventative maintenance and troubleshooting and reports to the Maintenance Manager, with direction from Production Managers.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Safety Compliance:
Follow all safety rules, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as hearing and eye protection, and safety shoes.
Equipment Operation:
Ensure the operation of equipment meets plant or department requirements. Identify machine issues before they become severe. Troubleshoot and resolve basic to intermediate technical issues.
Troubleshooting & Repair:
Diagnose and determine root causes of problems. Make corrections, repair, or replace parts and components as necessary.
Maintenance & Inventory:
Maintain all tools and spare parts inventory to ensure availability for machine maintenance. Perform maintenance requirements as per the preventative maintenance schedule.
Collaboration & Communication:
Discuss findings or results with department personnel. Develop solutions to problems and provide a basis for making corrections. Advise supervisor of any areas of concern regarding machine performance. Notify supervisor of any deviations from process, operational quality, maintenance, and safety standards.
Advanced Maintenance Tasks:
Perform more complex repair and PM independently on equipment. Assist in the installation of new equipment and the relocation of existing equipment. Make recommendations concerning changes to equipment, improvements, or installations and upkeep based on findings.
Competencies, Skills, and Abilities:
Demonstrated mechanical knowledge and technical capabilities. Ability to perform routine maintenance on equipment, determine the necessary repairs, and use the appropriate tools. Ability to use power drills, saws, pullers, and hand tools. Basic electrical knowledge is a plus. Ability to determine the required tools and equipment to complete tasks. Bilingual (Preferred): Spanish and English. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team. Strong decision-making abilities and the capability to work independently.
Education & Experience:
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Required:
1-2 years of related experience.
Preferred:
