Must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed for emergenices only.

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician provides maintenance services in resident apartments and common areas in the building and outside areas. Candidates must have a minimum of one year of proven experience in a hotel or housing unit. Minor plumbing, basic electrical, and painting experience are preferred; however, willing to train the appropriate candidate.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Performs any or all of the following maintenance duties concerning electricity; plumbing; painting; basic carpentry; mechanics (including equipment and mechanical systems); and knowledge of heating, cooling, and water systems, except for those services performed under a service contract with an outside contractor.
• Responds to and completes maintenance repair/request slips submitted by residents and staff on a timely basis.
• Runs errands; handles incoming and outgoing freight; lifts and moves heavy furniture and equipment; and other miscellaneous duties as directed by the Maintenance Director.
• Assists in snow removal (shoveling and plowing)
• Responds to emergencies.
• Maintains adequate records of completed job tasks.
