To support the Physical Plant in various critical capacities providing installation, maintenance and repair services as needed and/or assigned. Includes doors and hardware, external building envelope surfaces such as foundations, walls and roofs, exterior hardscapes including parking lots, sidewalks, stairs and common areas, interior finishes, pest control, event setup/breakdown and furniture and equipment moves. The successful candidate must have working knowledge of safety practices, tools, equipment, materials, and supplies used with doors, hardware, keying systems and building finishes. Must have the knowledge and skill to operate lifts and motorized equipment. Must be able to take direction and use independent discretion and judgement. Must be able to take initiative, prioritize, and complete tasks under minimum supervision. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license. Must be able to lift 50 pounds above head. Must have the ability to squat, reach, grasp, bend, crawl, stoop, climb, and work in elevated and/or confined environments. Must be able to work in all types of weather day or night, 365 days of the year. Must be able to travel to multiple campuses. Must be able to travel on occasion for training. Must be able to work with and assist other maintenance team members in their area of discipline when needed.

Job Duties:

Performs installation, repairs and maintenance on building exterior vertical surfaces and windows. This includes painting, pointing, glazing, caulking and other measures necessary for any component of the building envelop to maintain a weatherproof and energy efficient condition. Maintains/repairs exterior circulation and hardscapes including parking lots; striping, sidewalks, stairs, handrails, bus stops, signage, seating and gathering areas, etc. keeping all components up to date both functionally and aesthetically and in a safe condition. Performs projects such as, installation of building interior/exterior finishes. Works with the TCTC project manager and contract vendors for building projects and upgrades.
Maintains roofs so they are weather tight and performing in an acceptable manner. Including roof surfaces of all types, soffits, parapets, flashing, drains and guards, skylights, windows, hatches and gutter systems ensuring they are adequately functioning, in good condition and clear of debris. Inspects and identifies areas of roofs and make recommendations for repair and improvement. Establish relationships with venders and manage warranties as appropriate.
Performs the installation, maintenance and repair of interior finishes such as patching, painting, flooring, and small construction/renovation projects. Performs task in support of TCTC events. Performs tasks related to the classroom teaching environment including installation of white boards, bulletin boards, and teaching equipment.
Works with and coordinates work of contractors and vendors on maintenance projects and building maintenance activities. Such as roofing, gutter cleaning, parking lot stripping, masonry repair, glazing and water proofing.
Preforms other job duties as assigned.
Minimum and Additional Requirements Associate’s degree + 2 yrs directly related work experience; or High school diploma + 4 yrs directly related work experience.
