  • Job Description:
  • As a Maintenance Mechanic at Century Aluminum, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing hydraulic systems, gearboxes, conveyor equipment, vibrating feeders, hammer mills, cranes, mechanical drives, and assorted industrial equipment.
Your duties will include:

+ Using hand tools, measuring devices, and power tools such as drill presses, saws, grinders, breaks, benders, shears, iron workers, pipe cutting and threading equipment. + Operating welding, burning, and metal joining equipment, hoists, cranes, mobile equipment, test instruments, gauges, equipment ladders, scaffold, hand and power tools common to the trade. + Reading and working from blueprints, sketches, charts, manuals, instruction books, diagrams, and other information and instructions. Filling out reports and other necessary paperwork. + Troubleshooting, dismantling, repairing, assembling, inspecting, and testing industrial equipment, machinery, structures, and facilities. + Installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing piping systems and associated fixtures and equipment. + Performing cutting, welding, brazing, and soldering work with metal sheet and plate, including necessary layout work. + Operating cranes, mobile equipment, and erecting and disassembling scaffolding in conjunction with repair work.

  • Additional Skills & Qualifications or Nice To Haves :
  • + Welding and fabrication experience. + Experience working on bucket elevators, screw jacks, rotary valve feeders. + 3-5+ years of experience in a heavy industrial environment. + Previous experience in Navy (nuclear), foundry, paper mill, aluminum.

  • $81494.00/yr.
  • 9.58% shift differential once they move onto swing shift (Approximately an extra 3/hr)
