Job Description
Maintenance Tech 1 – Hotel Crowne Plaza Charleston SC 4831 Tanger Outlet Blvd, North Charleston, SC 29418 We are looking for a hotel Maintenance Tech 1 position in North Charleston, SC. This would be a great opportunity to learn the Engineering Department of Hotels to grow in multiple skills. This position involves performing a wide range of tasks to keep the hotel property and guest rooms in good condition. This includes tasks like cleaning, minor repairs, and groundskeeping which could involve electrical, plumbing, painter and HVAC to name a few. The work can be both inside and outside and may involve using various tools and equipment. Here is a more detailed look at what is expected of the Maintenance Tech 1 position: Cleaning and Maintenance This includes cleaning guest rooms (carpet cleaning, wall repairs), cleaning public areas including parking lot, and maintaining the hotel grounds. Minor Repairs Assist with preventive maintenance, repairs, and replacements. This would be an opportunity to learn about the electrical, plumbing and HVAC fields to increase your value. Inspect equipment/systems regularly for proper functioning and safety to include daily building rounds iv inspecting and reporting conditions. This could involve tasks like changing light bulbs, repairing furniture, caulking tubs, or touching up paint. Groundskeeping This could include landscaping, maintaining walkways, pool areas, irrigation, and other outdoor areas. Assisting with Larger Repairs There are more skilled tradespeople (like HVAC, plumbers, ,painter, electricians, etc.) with larger repairs or installations.
Inventory Management:
They might be responsible for maintaining inventory of supplies and parts. Including checking in parts and assisting in ordering parts. Safety Following safety procedures and wearing appropriate safety gear when working with tools and equipment is crucial. Training A willingness to learn different fields to expand your knowledge and skills for possible advancement and promotions.
Essential Functions:
The Engineering Department is staffed from 7 am to 10 pm. This person would need to be available for days, evenings, weekends and holidays shifts. 35 to 40 hours a week with occasional overtime. Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance Implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards Guest Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team Sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours Read, write, speak, and understand the English language Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc. Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information Understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Crowne Plaza conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training
