Talascend is currently seeking a Facilities Technician for a contract opportunity in Greer, SC.
SUMMARY:
The main function of a Facilities Technician is to provide general maintenance support for the assigned buildings.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor the facility to ensure that it remains safe, secure, and well-maintained.
Sweeping and cleaning walkways, parking lots, and other paved areas
Pressure washing surfaces as needed
Maintaining cleanliness of waste disposal areas
Cleaning and maintaining outdoor seating areas
Keeping tools and equipment clean and properly stored
Identifying and addressing potential hazards on the grounds
Ensuring compliance with local ordinances and environmental regulations
Proper handling and storage of chemicals and fuels
Preparing grounds for changing seasons (winterizing, spring preparation)
Adjusting maintenance routines based on weather conditions
Maintaining logs of work performed
Reporting issues or concerns to facility management
Participating in facility-wide initiatives or events
Coordinating with other facility staff for events or special requirements
Interacting professionally with facility users or visitors
Responding to groundskeeping requests or complaints
SKILLS:
Interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills. Basic ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
Basic knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED required.
