The Role:

The General Maintenance Technician is a hands-on role responsible for performing general and preventative maintenance within our chemical plant facilities to ensure equipment reliability, plant safety, and optimal operational performance. In addition, the technician will be cross-trained and expected to serve as a fill-in operator during staffing shortages or operational needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on mechanical systems, pumps, valves, motors, and other plant equipment. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair plant equipment and systems to minimize downtime. Support equipment installation, upgrades, and plant improvement projects. Maintain documentation of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs. Work collaboratively with plant operators and supervisors to support daily plant operations. Fill in as a plant operator during vacations, call-outs, or other staffing shortages. Comply with all plant safety policies, procedures, and environmental regulations. Participate in safety and operational training sessions. Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas and tools.

Who You Are:

We’re looking for ambitious go-getters who have: Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on repair skills. Basic understanding of electrical and fluid systems. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Comfortable using hand and power tools, forklifts, and other equipment. Basic computer literacy for logging work orders and accessing technical documents. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement

Key Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required 3-5 years of general maintenance experience in an industrial, chemical, or manufacturing plant environment

Working Conditions:

Ability to work in a chemical plant environment, including exposure to chemicals, heat, and noise. Flexibility to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Availability to respond to emergency situations outside of regular working hours. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including gloves, goggles, respirators, etc., is required. Travel to regional plant locations may be required.

Physical Requirements:

Frequently required to sit; occasionally required to walk, stand, climb stairs, balance, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and use senses such as smell. Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle objects. Routine reaching, squatting, twisting, lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 60 pounds. Exposure to excessive heat.
