Facilities Maintenance 1st Shift 3.2 3.2 out of 5 stars Columbia, SC 29209

Shift Hours:

7:30am to 4:00pm The Facilities Maintenance Technician is in charge of performing ongoing facility maintenance and completing repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment. Job Function Statements –

Essential Functions:

Plumbing skills needed: repair broken, damaged, and leaking pvc/copper pipe; repair/replace automatic flush valves and sink valves, insulating pipe work. Proper use of required tools. Electrical skills needed include 1yr minimum experience with high and low voltage; repair/replace light fixtures; troubleshoot and replace/install receptacles and drops; able to read prints, schematics, and line drawings. Understanding and using DVM and other special tools.

Light construction skills:

Attaching parts and equipment with concrete anchors, repairing holes in concrete with supplied materials, repairing manual and electric roll up doors and pass-through doors. Welding skills are a plus. Able to read and follow prints. Understanding and using basic units of measure. Proper use of required tools to complete job. Dependable and self-motivated with the ability to work some weekends as projects or special work requires. Able to communicate and work well with others as a team player. Understand and operate multiple kinds of material handling equipment and personnel lifts. Professional work skills from start to completion of all jobs, keeping work area clean, organized, and well maintained throughout the entire repair/installation process.

Required Qualifications/Skills:

Mechanical or electrical skills Ability to accurately maintain operation records Excellent written and verbal communication skills Basic knowledge of electrical principles, and pneumatics Knowledge of the proper use and hazards of chemical materials

Organizational, time efficiency and documentation skills Analytical problem-solving skills Crawling, stooping, bending and long periods of standing required Must be able to lift up to 75 Lbs. and climb ladders Must be able to work in varying temperatures as needed
