Responsibilities of the General Maintenance Tech III – 2 position available: To ensure that the agency campus is safe by ensuring that maintenance is completed correctly and in a timely manner. Direct supervision in regard to time and area of work, may be hazardous conditions based on weather and need. Annual performance appraisal and discussion with supervisor. Must be able to work independently and with a team. Salary dependent on experience. Carpentry work for new and old construction. Painting all campus buildings, inside and out.
Electrical work:
house wiring, replacing parts such as light fixtures, receptacles, switches, circuit breakers, wire, etc. Also replacing damaged parts on water heaters and other electrical equipment.
Plumbing:
repairing broken lines and leaks, plumbing old and new bathrooms and kitchens, ordering spare parts, commodes, urinals, sinks, etc.
HVAC units:
be responsible for operation, maintenance and repairs.
Fire- Fighting equipment:
operation, maintenance, and repairs.
Sewer lines:
repair broken lines, clogged lines, installation of new service.
Maintenance supplies:
help to determine a need for parts and chemicals and assist in obtaining them.
Power Lines:
the school owns the campus power lines, poles, transformers, and related parts. Be able to assist in restoring power in case of breakdowns. Welding repairs. Moving furniture, supplies, etc. Operating equipment such as tractors, lawn mowers, chain saws, pressure washers, farm machinery. Delivery and pick up on and off campus. Serve in role of 24-hour on-call rotation. Other related duties Minimum and Additional Requirements High school diploma and trade experience directly related to employment, valid driver’s license
Additional Requirements:
Skills in trade areas. Ability to work independently and with a team. Ability to work with high school students. May have to work outside. Must be able to lift 50 pounds, physical labor is required. Participate in an on-call rotation. Must complete required annual trainings as required by the agency. Must have valid driver’s license and be willing to drive a state vehicle Some weekends will be required due to large campus events.
