Non-Exempt SUMMARY The Maintenance Technician position is a non-exempt salaryposition, and reports to the Operations Leader. The employee isresponsible for ensuring that the plant runs as efficiently and assmoothly as possible. The maintenance responsibilities will requirethe employee to perform preventive maintenance on variousequipment, troubleshoot both equipment, and facilities needs, andto secure & manage outside resources such as parts or vendors asnecessary to complete their tasks.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs self-directed reactive and planned maintenance whichincludes but is not limited to: observing equipment and componentsin operation to determine the root cause of the problem;dismantling components to gain access to and remove defectiveparts; examines parts to detect imperfections; adjustment offunctional parts of devices and control instruments; repair and/orreplacement of defective parts; testing of device to observeperformance; and tests for electrical circuitry and mechanicalsystems; reconditions and repairs machine tools. Performs simplewelding tasks. Orders supplies and repair items as necessary. Provides support and back up for other members of the department asneeded by management. Provides assistance to production technicians and leadership tosmall teams. Assures compliance with safety and housekeeping standards. Analyzes and troubleshoots machine failures. Acts as a proactiveproject manager and works closely with management. Design ability required to lay out, wire, build, and troubleshootelectrical panels and/or other machinery according to NFPA/NECstandards. Maintains the grounds and building exterior, by performing any ofthe following technical disciplines; routine electrical,mechanical, and basic HVAC repairs. CNC maintenance experience preferred, but not required Be on call for weekend and off normal hours work Participates in continuous improvement activities.

The employee should hold the following abilities: Must be able to read, write, and speak English Must possess strong communication skills & write routine reportsand correspondence Must be self-motivated, able to prioritize work, and be able tomulti-task Must have strong internal and external customer service skillsand be a team player Must be able to read blueprints and use measuring instruments Must be able perform basic failure analysis and have ability toanalyze/solve problems and deal in an environment where onlylimited standardization exists Must possess an understanding of electronic and mechanicalcomponents to troubleshoot and repair Must be able to troubleshoot industrial electrical issues with orwithout drawings or schematics Must have a basic knowledge of the use and care of hand and powertools Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating andmaintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Must be able to Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units ofmeasure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; computeratio and percent and interpret bar graphs Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral,diagram, or schedule form.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

The employee should have the following: Minimum High School Graduate or equivalent (GED). Associates degreewith a Technical focus preferred, but not required. Possess an unrestricted driver’s license Three to seven years related experience in industrial maintenanceis required, with a proficiency in industrial electricaltroubleshooting.
