About the role Located in Sumter, SC and reporting to the Ops Manager, the Maintenance Technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and process to support the achievement of the sites business goals and objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, procedures and acting in a safe manner at all times
• Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service such as conveyers, shredders, etc.
• Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
• Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plan facilities.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
• Detect facility operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
• Perform shredder teeth exchange and related maintenance.
• Ensures training and updates are kept
• Provide tools to perform work duties
• Perform other work related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS GED/HS

Diploma preferred – Reworld offers GED Works – a fully funded program for employees to achieve their GED 5-7 years facility maintenance experience and 10-Hour OSHA General Industry safety training preferred Must have own tools Willing to work flexible work hours including evenings Valid Drivers License with good driving record Must possess good communication skills and legible handwriting

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Able to perform general office skills Requires standing, walking, carrying, stooping, crouching, sitting, grasping and reaching May require lifting, pulling and/or pushing up to 50 lbs.
