Position Summary:

The Maintenance Technician, under the direction of the Director and/or Corporate Facilities Manager, is responsible for the maintenance, cleanliness, and safety of the building and grounds. This position plays a vital role in ensuring our facility remains in excellent condition, visually appealing, and fully functional for residents, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, equipment, and grounds. Plan and oversee housekeeping and maintenance operations to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Maintain a clean, safe, and attractive facility, inside and out. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, including inclement weather needs such as snow removal, salting, and de-icing. Inspect buildings and grounds weekly, identifying and resolving any issues. Coordinate with vendors and request outside services when needed. Monitor and stay within the facility’s maintenance budget; report any anticipated overages in advance. Assist in hiring, training, and evaluating maintenance and housekeeping staff. Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with residents, staff, families, and visitors.

Qualifications:

Prior experience in general building maintenance, repair, or facilities management preferred. Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing, stooping, bending, and crawling. Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions (rain, snow, heat, cold). Knowledge of safety regulations and equipment maintenance procedures. Compassionate attitude and respect for the needs of the aging population. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
