Job Purpose Statement:
Maintenance Tech III covers multiple leadership positions in the maintenance department, all of these positions require an interview prior to be placed in the role. The employee should have a good understanding of a minimum of the Electrician and Mechanic roles. Summary of Responsibility for each role: Reliability Maintenance Technician Job Description Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for implementing and ensuring approaches for preventative/predictive maintenance tasks and maintenance repair techniques are standardized and effective for the plant’s equipment base. Review all equipment failures, downtime reports and equipment histories to uncover reoccurring maintenance problems and evaluate how PM effectiveness, working with maintenance to modify PM frequency. As appropriate, will utilize continuous improvement tools to identify root cause and work to implement a solution. Identifies potential for cost reduction through improve equipment reliability, extended parts life, reduced labor cost, and other reliability-related improvement techniques. Works closely with engineers to coordinate the development of engineering solutions to repetitive equipment failures and other maintenance problems to reduce the need for maintenance while improving costs and reliability. Champions the sharing of best practices, root cause solutions and procedural changes with corporate and other plants while ensuring the implementation of transferred best practices in an effort to maintain standardization and improve equipment performance. Supports the plant engineers and maintenance manager to develop, standardize, coordinate, and administer an overall maintenance program, update existing programs, add new equipment to existing reliability programs. Support the maintenance group in ensuring accurate up to date spare parts lists are available for existing equipment and new installations, equipment and components are consistent with established standards and reliability enhancements. Supports the maintenance manager in evaluating and identifying what training is required to improve craft skill to ensure responsible personnel are trained appropriately. Skills and Specifications Successful candidate will possess strong project management skills, capable of obtaining results by means of a standardized gated process utilizing tools including but not limited to design and/or process FMEAs, SIPOC, and MS project. Develops strong working relationships with all engineering, maintenance, and production departments internally while building relationships with equipment suppliers. Significant experience in engineering/maintenance with in a manufacturing environment is an advantage. Experience in continuous improvement process, BB/GB certified, would be a plus. Education and Qualifications BS in Engineering or related field preferred. Four (4) or more years of engineering/maintenance experience required. Additional years of experience will be taken into consideration in lieu of the educational preference. Maintenance Planner Job Description Maintenance Planner is responsible for developing the repair, servicing and smooth functioning of all machinery and equipment in the plant. Duties and Responsibilities Focus on planning and work order creation from PM inspections and PdM activities. Safety procedures and concerns are viewed and included in the plan. Analysis is thorough – each job is broken down into component tasks. Required skills are identified; manpower requirements and time estimates are made. Material needs are identified Tools to perform the job have been identified and gathered. Required specifications and drawings are included in the scope of the job. Preparatory and start-up activities are listed and part of the scheduling. Identify work as far in advance as possible so backlog of work is known and jobs can be effectively planned. Best practice is two weeks work planned ahead. Backlogs must be kept within a reasonable range. Backlogs below minimum do not provide a sufficient volume of work to accommodate smooth scheduling. Backlog above maximum turns so slowly that it is impossible to complete on a timely basis. Special request or demands cannot be scheduled unless backlog is addressed by providing additional resources or relaxing priorities. Jobs cannot be scheduled until all needs such as parts, materials, tools, and special equipment are available in the quantity required and at the time necessary. Ensuring the proper usage of maintenance tools and equipment for repairs. Each available craftsman must be scheduled a full day of productive work each day. Maintenance Trainer Job Description Job Purpose Statement:
The primary function of this positon is for the employee to manage the training development, delivery, and documentation activity for employees in the Maintenance Department. The position will also have a focus on continuous improvement projects for the Maintenance area as business needs dictate.
Summary of Responsibility:
Will coordinate the training of new employees and those requiring retraining by personally providing on the job and training Will answer all training questions that might be asked by new hires. Will develop and maintain department training matrix Will develop and maintain visual management tools Will train to develop maintenance and production experience in all areas/operations of the Maintenance Department Will work closely with the Maintenance Manager and others to develop and/or communicate standard work Will lead initiatives for Continuous Improvement Projects in the Maintenance Department. Will be responsible for the development, implementation, and tracking of the Apprentice Program Will fill for shift lead as needed to support production requirements Other duties as assigned
